Everton income revealed as club remains one of world's richest teams

Everton remain in the world's top 20 richest clubs, according to Deloitte's annual Football Money League table.

However, they slipped two places this year to 19th after mustering an eighth-place finish under Marco Silva in the Premier League last term and failing to make an impact in cup competitions.

The Blues income remained at €213million (£187.7million), almost virtually identical to the club's figures for 2017/18 (€212.9million; 188.6million) - which were good enough for 17th place in the table.

A season outside of European competition - for the third time in the last five seasons - stunted Everton's growth last time around, putting them just a single place above new entrants Napoli.

Everton invested heavily last season, spending significant sums on the likes of Richarlison, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne, but failed to crack into European competition.

The club generated less revenue than West Ham last season, slightly below the Hammers' €216.4million (£190.7million).

From there, Everton claimed less than half the income of the next highest-ranked English team, Arsenal, whose revenues of €445.6million (£392.7million) were enough for 11th place in the table.

Everton's eight-place finish last season was by virtue of a strong gallop to the finish line, losing just one of their last eight games, including a dismantling of Manchester United and victory over Arsenal.

But the club ultimately paid for struggling in the middle of the season; after defeating Cardiff in late November, Everton won only three more games until beating Cardiff again in the last week of February.

Meanwhile, the club slipped to disappointing exits in both cup competitions, losing on penalties to Southampton in the third round of the EFL Cup; and going only one better in the FA Cup, where they were dumped out by Millwall despite leading twice at The Den.
