Everton in the Community announce virtual fundraiser to continue mental health efforts

Everton In The Community have announced that this year's If You Know Your History 5k will be completed virtually.

The second year of the event will allow participants from all over the world to run their own routes in aid of The People's Place, in-keeping with social distancing regulations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year's run will take place on Sunday August 2 with the entry fee being reduced to £15, which includes a branded race number and medal plus postage and packaging.

The People's Place will be purpose-built mental health facility which will provide tailored support to promote positive mental health and deliver support relating to suicide awareness and prevention.

Last year's inaugural 'If You Know Your History' run proved to be a huge success, with over 450 participants marking a route around famous landmarks of the club's past.

Over £14,000 of sponsorship and donations was raised for The People's Place through the event.

This year, due to the current climate, it has been decided to recreate the event in a different way.

Everton In The Community are again encouraging supporters to lace up their trainers and run their own route, wherever they are in the world, for this virtual race.
