Everton hoping to arrange warm-up game and special training session ahead of Liverpool

Everton are planning to stage a friendly game at Finch Farm to help with preparations for the Premier League's return.

And the Blues also want to train at Goodison at least once before they face Liverpool on June 21.

Everton officials are currently looking into the possibility of inviting a local Football League side to their Halewood training base to play a full 90 minute friendly game.

The ECHO understands that if opposition cannot be secured then the Blues will arrange an in-house game made up of players in the squad.

Carlo Ancelotti is keen for his players to train at Goodison too, in order to help re-familiarise themselves with the surroundings ahead of the Premier League's resumption later this month.

Everton are hopeful the Merseyside derby will take place at Goodison, as scheduled, but there remains a threat that the game could yet be moved to a neutral venue.
