Everton heroes Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta reunite for brilliant throwback picture

Everton heroes Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta have reunited in a moment Blues supporters have shown their love for.

The pair were both signed by David Moyes for the 2004/05 campaign - with the former joining the summer before the term started and the latter making his move to Merseyside, initially on loan, in January of that season.

Both wasted no time in making themselves massive favourites with the Everton fans and establishing themselves as integral cogs in Moyes' team over the course of his stay at Goodison Park.

Arteta controversially left the Blues in 2011 to join Arsenal on transfer deadline day, while Cahill stayed until May 2012 before making an emotional departure to join New York Red Bulls.

The pair were good friends an have stayed in touch - and reunited on social media for a brilliant throwback picture on Sunday evening.

Cahill shared an image of him and the now-Man City coach cooking steak on a barbecue together, alongside another picture of the pair doing the same thing years previously.

And that led to a wave of messages from Everton supporters on social media about the pair - who are still  remembered fondly from their time at Goodison Park.
