Everton hero urged to 'come home' after beginning next stage of his career

Everton fans have urged Tim Cahill to "come home" as the former midfielder has started his coaching badges.

The Blues hero spent eight years at Goodison Park after joining the club from Millwall in 2004, and wasted no time in winning over supporters with his style of football.

Always ready to give 100% and with a great eye for arriving late into the box to bag goals, the Australian international made himself a special place in the hearts of Evertonians for years.

And, clearly, that is still apparent to this day.

The 39-year-old officially announced his retirement from football in March this year and made clear he would look to be moving on to the next step of his career soon.

Now the former Everton man has confirmed the beginning of his coaching badges with FA Wales.

Speaking to evertontv Cahill said: "What's next for me? I'll be involved in football in some shape or form.

"I've always said one day in the future I'll always be a part of Everton, the same that I said to Millwall that I'd go back there and play - and I did and pretty much finished my career there."

And Blues supporters have made very clear they want to see Cahill back on the Blues touchline.
