Everton hero Tim Cahill makes major career decision

Everton hero Tim Cahill is to retire from football this month.

The 39-year-old's contract with Indian side Jamshedpur ends at the end of March and Cahill says he won't be looking for a new deal.

Cahill has spoken about a move into coaching when he officially brings the curtain down on his playing career.

The key lessons Everton will learn from Spurs' new stadium ahead of Bramley-Moore move

Asked if he would carry on playing, Cahill said: "No, I’m an old man now in football years," Cahill is quoted by Optus Sports.

"I’d love to keep playing, you know 39, had a great stint for six months in India.

"But I’m interested in TV, going to start my A-Licence and spend quality time with my family and chill out for a bit.

"It was amazing to play in four big continents.
