Everton hero Andrei Kanchelskis looking for 'new opportunities' in football after resignation

Everton hero Andrei Kanchelskis is looking for "new opportunities" in football following resigning from his management role, according to his son.

The former Blues star was manager of Navbahor Namangan in Uzbekistan after being appointed by the club in October 2018.

However, on Wednesday, the ex-winger's son took to Twitter to share the news that his father had resigned from his role and was on the hunt for another opportunity elsewhere.

His tweet read: "Dad has resigned from Uzbek side Navbahor Namangan and is now looking for new opportunities in football.

"Hopefully one day we can all see him back in the UK in some capacity."

Kanchelskis made 60 appearances across his 18 months at Everton after joining the club from Manchester United in the summer of 1995.

The Ukrainian was sold to Fiorentina in January 1997 but returned to the UK later in his career for spells with Rangers, Manchester City and Southampton.
