Good evening, Everton fans. Here are your evening headlines for Monday, August 31.
Napoli chief suggests Allan move is imminent
Napoli midfielder Allan is on the verge of a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti at Everton, according to the president of the Serie A club.
The Brazilian was a regular under Ancelotti at the Stadio San Paolo but fell out of favour once he was replaced by Gennaro Gattuso and has since been regularly linked with a move Everton, something which is seemingly now on the verge of coming to fruition.
“We have reached the final salutes. He will go to Everton," Napoli president Aurelio di Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss (via Football Italia ).
The 29-year-old, who has also played in Serie A for Udinese, played his 200th game for Napoli last season.
However, he started just twice after the restart in June, struggling for minutes as the team finished seventh under Rino Gattuso.
According to Sky Sports , the South American will cost Everton an initial €25m, potentially rising to €28m.
Everton target misses Real Madrid training
Real Madrid players returned to training ahead of the 2020/21 season today, but James Rodriguez was nowhere to be seen.
The Colombian star has made more than 100 appearances in a Real shirt and was on the bench for their Champions League final win in 2016.
He has been strongly linked with a move to Everton, where he would reunite with Ancelotti, who was in charge at the Bernabeu when James joined Real in 2014 after starring at the World Cup.
According to Football Espana , Rodriguez was the “most notable absentee” from Los Blancos’ training session, as the Spanish champions prepare to embark on their title defence.
Real Madrid will begin their 2020/21 season in September, having finished last season five points clear of runners-up Barcelona.
Richarlison's wonderful gesture for family in need
Everton forward Richarlison has received plenty of praise for his community work, both around Merseyside and in his native Brazil.
The former Watford man was named the Toffees’ PFA Community Champion for the 2019/20 season, after providing food packages in his home town of Nova Venecia, among other deeds.
The 23-year-old, who finished the previous campaign as Everton’s joint-top scorer, has picked up where he left off this summer by helping out a family in their time of need.
After seeing a tweet from a Brazilian family in desperate need of food, he messaged them directly and the same Twitter account subsequently shared a photo thanking him.
And the act has not gone unnoticed by Everton fans, who have shared their responses on social media.
