Everton head to two new Asian cities as Asmir Begovic offers Finch Farm experience

Everton’s International Soccer School programme is to visit Dubai and Jakarta for the first time in another exciting expansion of the initiative.

The Blues recently announced coaches will be heading to Africa for the first time, with courses set to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year. And as the club’s international strategy, launched in April 2021, continues to evolve, a series of Soccer Schools have also been confirmed in Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.

The first visit to Jakarta will take place between June 26-30, with further details to be confirmed. The Dubai programme is then scheduled to take place in December 2023, with the offering including a four-day camp for boys and girls aged between 8-16 and daily, age-specific player development sessions for boys and girls from 7-18.

All courses are delivered by fully-qualified coaches, using the same curriculum used by staff at the world-renowned Everton Academy. As well as helping youngsters hone their skills, an emphasis is placed on teamwork and creating a fun and welcoming environment in which to learn. Everton’s International Soccer Schools Programme is already well established in North America, with thousands of children taking part in camps across 19 states across the US, plus Canada.

The programme will continue to expand in the coming years, with plans in place to continue developing the Soccer Schools initiative in other parts of the world. Paddy Byrne, Everton’s International Technical Manager, said: “On the back of us being able to announce our first Soccer Schools in Africa, we are delighted to now be heading to Dubai and Jakarta.

“The Soccer Schools allow us to grow the Everton brand around the world by engaging kids in an authentic and memorable Everton experience and giving them access to practises and drills that come straight from the curriculum used by Academy coaches at Finch Farm. That level of detail in the technical delivery of camps is something we believe sets Everton Soccer Schools apart and will not only see youngsters improve their game but fall in love with Everton, too.”

Meanwhile, closer to home, Everton has teamed up with the Asmir Begovic Goalkeeping Academy to host a Goalkeeper Experience at Finch Farm for youngsters aged between 6-13. The experience will take place on Wednesday, April 5 and you can click here for more details.
