Everton have pencilled in return date for training, says midfielder

Everton's players could be back in training on April 17, according to Morgan Schneiderlin.

All Premier League games have been suspended until at least April 30 and the Blues' players have been told to stay away from the club's Finch Farm training ground until further notice.

But Schneiderlin, currently recovering from knee surgery, says players have been given a date in just under four weeks to come back.

The 30-year-old admits a return at that stage may be premature given the spread of coronavirus.

He told the Mirror: “They [the authorities] will take the best possible decision.

“Football comes second here. We're going to have to adapt.

“The club has given us the date of April 17 to come back to training. That seems to me maybe a little bit early.

"We are prepared to play until August if that is what is needed.

“I know that it will be difficult with certain players’ contracts coming to an end in June.

“I hope that it will be postponed for a little bit longer because then I would be able to play again this season.”
