Everton handed potential injury blow as Lucas Digne is withdrawn against Manchester United

Everton have been handed a potential injury blow with left-back Lucas Digne having been replaced in the 25th minute at Old Trafford with what appeared to be a groin problem.

The full-back was replaced by the experienced Leighton Baines, with manager Duncan Ferguson forced into an early substitution.

Everton have a flurry of matches to come over the Christmas period, with Leicester City heading to Goodison Park on Wednesday for the Carabao Cup quarter-final, before games in the Premier League against Arsenal and Burnley.

The Blues will hope that Digne's injury is not as bad as first feared, though with the Frenchman having been taken off having signalled to the bench, Everton will be made to sweat for another update.
