Everton handed Christmas advantage over Champions League rivals

Everton will travel just 159 miles to play three three games over the Christmas and New Year period.

The congested festive fixture list has been a bone of contention once again in 2020 but the Blues have been provided with a small slice of fortune amid the chaos this season.

On Boxing Day, Carlo Ancelotti's men travel away to face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane meaning a round trip of approximately 159.4 miles.

However, on December 28 and January 2, they host Manchester City and West Ham respectively - meaning Everton have the luxury of staying Goodison Park over the New Year period.

To put that in perspective, top four rivals Leicester City will travel 666 miles to play their three matches, starting with a home fixture against Manchester United before away games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will travel more than 800 miles to play three games over the Christmas and New Year period.

On Boxing Day, Jurgen Klopp's men host West Brom at Anfield while on December 30 and January 2, they will travel to face Newcastle and Southampton with two round trips totalling around 820 miles.
