Everton forced into late Manchester City team change as Bernard injured in warm-up

Everton have been forced into a late change ahead of the game with Man City after Bernard went down injured in the warm-up.

The Brazilian went down with a left knee injury and looked to be in some considerable pain.

Everton’s medical team were quickly on hand to see to Bernard who would get to his feet and attempt to run off the problem.

But the 27-year-old was soon seen shaking his head and would head for the changing rooms as the rest of the Everton squad completed their pre-match routine.

Tom Davies has replaced Bernard in the starting XI with Anthony Gordon being promoted to the bench.

Bernard was due to play on the left wing as Carlo Ancelotti made five changes to his starting line-up for tonight’s game at the Etihad Stadium.
