Everton FC are investigating a racist gesture allegedly made by a fan towards Tottenham player, Son Heung-Min.
The incident happened after Spurs forward Son Heung-Min fouled Everton midfielder Andre Gomes during tonight's match at Goodison Park, leaving him with a suspected broken ankle.
The Everton fan was caught on camera making an alleged racist gesture towards the South Korean player after the incident, which saw Son sent off in tears.
Andre Gomes was tripped by Son and as he lost his footing the Everton player's ankle appeared to break.
Son appeared to be distraught at seeing the damage sustained to Gomes and was initially given a yellow card, but this was soon upgraded to a red and he was sent off.
A number of other nearby Everton players were visibly shaken by the sight of Gomes' shocking injury.
The Portuguese midfielder was stretchered off in the 84th minute and replaced by Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Everton Fan Services tweeted this evening saying they are investigating the alleged incident and "Everton strongly condemns any form of racism."
They said: "Everton is investigating an alleged incident of racist behaviour by a supporter attending today’s fixture against Tottenham.
"Everton strongly condemns any form of racism. Any such behaviour has no place within our stadium, our Club, our community or our game."
