Everton fans see positives after Man City postponement

Everton fans have been giving their reaction to the news that Monday night's Premier League fixture against Manchester City has been postponed.

The sides were due to go head-to-head at Goodison Park in their final match of the year - but it has been called off following more confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Man City camp.

Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus missed City's 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day after testing positive for Covid-19 - and there have now been more cases identified.

One fan said on Twitter: "Surely if we've gotten to 4 hours before KO to announce the postponement, City have forfeited the game!?"

Another tweeted: "To be honest, the game being postponed works in our favour. We need the rest and get the chance for a fitter squad."

A third supporter said: "Tonight’s game should never have been scheduled anyway. Less than 48 hours rest is an absolute joke."
