Everton fans say the same thing about Premier League fixture pattern

Everton fans are not happy with their fixture list for the new season.

The Toffees, and indeed their rivals, learned their fixtures for the 2020/21 season today, but while fixture release day often acts as an exciting launch for the new season, Everton fans aren't exactly overcome with excitement.

Why? That's because they have noticed their club might have been handed the short straw when it comes to the fixture order.

Everton are away on opening day, against Tottenham, they are away on Boxing Day, against Sheffield United, and they are even on the road for the final game of the season, against Manchester City.

Not only that, but their home derby with Liverpool is early in the campaign, on October 17, which will likely be without fans, or at least with a drastically reduced attendance.

Meanwhile, the reverse fixture, at Anfield, is on February 12, when there's a much greater chance of there being a fuller stadium.

That has Everton fans unhappy today. Here's what they have said on Twitter.

The Toffees will be hoping for a campaign this time around, finishing 12th last term.

Though, it seems Carlo Ancelotti and his men haven't been helped by the Premier League's game-makers, receiving their first challenge before the season has even begun.
