Everton fans prove incredible support once again for pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic

Everton fans have shown their incredible support once again - this time ahead of the club's pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic next week.

Over the years, Blues supporters have continued follow their side admirably wherever they might be playing across Europe or in the UK.

Fans travelled out to Kenya earlier in pre-season to see Marco Silva's side take on Kariobangi Sharks in the first match of the summer, and many are already planning trips across Europe in August to see the Blues face Werder Bremen.

But it's a fixture a little closer to home that is catching the eye.

Next week, Everton make the short journey to the DW Stadium to face Wigan on July 24 in what is their only pre-season fixture based in the UK.

And, with there being no match at Goodison Park this summer, fans are clearly desperate to see their side in action - even if it is just for a friendly.

The Blues received an initial allocation of 5,000 tickets for the match against the Championship side in their 25,138 capacity stadium.

That's impressive enough, but the demand for this game from Everton supporters has now led to an even bigger allocation.

The club announced on Friday that they had been allocated an extra 3,600 tickets in the North stand for the match.

Entry will cost £15 for adults, £5 for under-18s and just £2 for under-12s.

Sales via online and phone will stop at 1pm on Monday 22 July due to the last posting day, but sales can still be completed in person at the Goodison Road box office.

Fans will also be able to pay cash on the night at the DW stadium at Turnstile P in the North stand - but as ever all tickets are subject to availability.
