Everton fans have told Gareth Southgate he should have dropped Harry Kane in favour of Dominic Calver-Lewin after the latest England line-up was announced.
Talisman Calvert-Lewin was named among the substitutes for the third game running despite Kane's faltering displays at the tournament so far.
Southgate again puts his trust in the Premier League golden boot winner as Jordan Pickford maintains his spot as England number one after his impressive performances against Croatia and Scotland.
Pickford made crucial interceptions throughout the stalemate during England's uninspiring display including a brilliant save from Stephen O'Donnell's volley midway through the first half.
The 24-year-old has made 11 appearances for England since his debut last year, scoring four goals. Two of those came during the 5-0 win over San Marino.
He did make a late appearance in the win over Croatia replacing goalscorer Raheem Sterling but he didn't get enough time to make an impact.
The Czech Republic are all that stand in the way of the Three Lions topping Group D, however, a draw wouldn't be enough with the Czech's having a superior goal difference but both nations had already qualified going into the final game.
Everton fans were rightly disappointed not to see last season's top goalscorer earn an England start at a major tournament.
Southgate addressed the media on Monday ahead of the Group D finale.
“I’m sure Harry is going to be playing for us and is going to have a big impact [tonight] so I’m not worried about that,” Southgate told reporters.
“Are we pleased to have Dominic in our squad? Yeah, absolutely. He’s a very good centre-forward and he had a big impact for us in the Autumn so it’s good we’ve got him and Marcus who can play as nines in the team.
“They understand in terms of their challenge with Harry. Obviously Marcus can play wide as well, but they understand who our best number nine is and the scoring pedigree and the importance to the team of Harry’s status and his role for us.”
