Everton fans love Richarlison dig at Sky Sports news

Richarlison isn't one to forgive and forget, it appears.

The Everton forward delighted supporters on Wednesday evening after he dug up an old tweet from Sky Sports back from when he was first being linked with a move to Goodison Park.

Back in 2018, Sky Sports were surprised at the reports that the Toffees were willing to pay £50million to land Richarlison from Premier League rivals Watford.

The tweet read: "Yes, you did read that correctly. £50million. Everton in advanced talks to sign Watford's Richarlison."

The Brazilian has gone on to prove he was worth every penny of the fee that Everton did eventually pay, becoming a crucial part of Carlo Ancelotti's attack and netting 33 goals for the club in 88 appearances.

While away with his country for their World Cup qualifiers, Richarlison replied to the old tweet with the lyrics to a fan favourite chant: "He’s Brazilian..." accompanied with musical notes and laughing emojis.

One supporter replied with the next line: "He only cost 50 million" to which Richarlison kept the song going by tweeting: "And we think he’s f****** brilliant."

Unsurprisingly, fans have loved seeing that Richarlison is familiar with the song.

Richarlison has become so integral to the side that his recent absence has been keenly felt.

The 23-year-old was sent off late on in the Merseyside derby and as a result had to sit out the next three games, which were all lost to Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester United.

Thankfully, his suspension has now been served and he could return to the fold in Sunday's trip to Fulham if he recovers from a knock picked up in Brazil's clash with Uruguay on Tuesday.
