Everton fans correct Gary Neville following Jordan Pickford's England heroics

Everton fans have moved to correct Gary Neville after the pundit praised Jordan Pickford's England performances.

The Everton goalkeeper kept another clean sheet for his country on Tuesday evening as they made it to the quarter finals of Euro 2020 with a 2-0 victory over Germany at Wembley.

The 27-year-old was called into action on numerous occasions to deny Joachim Löw's side and make sure the Three Lions progressed, without conceding a single goal in the entire tournament so far.

Following the match there has been an outpouring of praise to players throughout the squad, with many fans and pundits turning their attention particularly to Pickford.

Neville was one of those, taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning to write: "My MOM last night was Jordan Pickford and I also think he’s been England’s player of the tournament so far . I’ve been critical of him with Everton but with #ENG he’s a different player!"

However many Blues fans have already moved to correct the former Manchester United defender.

Evertonians have replied to the tweet pointing out that Pickford's form has been brilliant for both club and country for the last few months.

The goalkeeper might have had a difficult spell in 2020/21, but recovered excellently from it to produce some fantastic performances in the latter stages of the campaign.

Pickford was crucial to Everton picking up vital points in the last few months of the term, not least with a stunning display at Anfield as the Blues finally broke their Merseyside derby curse in February.

Pickford has now kept a clean sheet in 12 of his last 18 matches for club and country, showing off his tremendous form in that spell.

The goalkeeper will be between the posts once again on Saturday as England take on Ukraine in Rome for a place in the semi finals of Euro 2020.
