Everton fans all say the same thing after Marco Silva returns to English football

Former Everton manager Marco Silva has been announced as the new manager of Fulham following the departure of Scott Parker earlier this week.

The former Blues boss has been out of management since he was sacked by Everton in December 2019.

Silva took charge of 60 matches as manager at Goodison but fortunes soured towards the end of his reign, yet supporters still remember him fondly.

And with the Portuguese boss making a return to English football, albeit, in the second tier, Everton fans had their say on social media.

Having first come to England as he looked to keep Hull City in the Premier League during the 2016/17 season, Silva was ultimately unable to lead the Tigers to survival, but still seemed to impress with his style of play as he subsequently earned himself a move to Watford.

His work at Watford, where he teamed up with current Everton star Richarlison, is where he really made his mark in English football as he helped the Hornets get their 2017/18 season off to a flyer.

However, an approach by Everton in the early autumn seemed to upset the apple-cart at Watford with Silva's head turned by the Blues, which ultimately led to Watford sacking him in February 2018 after a run of poor form.

Silva averaged 1.38 points per game during his spell at Goodison Park and has been out of work since the two parties separated in late 2019.
