Everton fan hoping to find Liverpool city centre mural space after raising £5,000

An Everton supporter is hoping to find a wall in Liverpool city centre after crowdfunding £5,000 for a new mural.

Loyal Evertonians helped raise the money after Paul Morgan - who launched the successful Kit It Out initiative across the city last year - created a GoFundMe page for fans to sponsor fresh artwork celebrating Everton.

Morgan is keen for youngsters to 'look up to' their idols ahead of the move to Bramley Moore-Dock and raised the £5,000 necessary to design the artwork and find a firm to produce the mural.

But finding space in the city centre has proven difficult.

One potential location has been identified but would need a kind-hearted volunteer to render the wall for free with funds already locked into place.

"There are a lot of walls in the city centre that are just plain and dull, so a painting on the side of it isn't going to be the worst thing," Morgan told the ECHO last month.

"Surely, if you're brightening up a part of town where people can go and take photos, maybe more can be done, like Everton and Liverpool ones together.

"Liverpool have theirs and they are successful at this time.

"But why can't Everton have theirs? I know there are ones around Goodison Park but there are no big ones on the side of walls and it will just be something good for Everton fans, really.

"It won't be anything cheesy - it'll be a really good project."

*If you know of a space in Liverpool city centre that could be ideal - 10 foot high by 20 foot wide are the desired measurements - contact Paul Morgan on his Kit It Out page or email Sam Carroll at sam.carroll@trinitymirror.com.
