Everton fan base continues to expand as Kenya gains new supporters club

Everton's fan base has officially grown into a new country with the launch of a Kenyan supporters' club.

On Friday night the Nairobi Blues were certified as the club's 133 affiliated fan group at an event which attracted around 200 fans.

The Blues now have official supporters' clubs in 12 countries outside the UK with Kenya becoming the latest.

Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar were the star guests at the Kengeles bar in down town Nairobi and the former Goodison favourites mingled with fans, chatting about the Blues and posing for photos.

Everton's Head of Communications and Engagement Scott McLeod said: “It is hugely exciting, to be adding the first officially affiliated Everton Supporters' Club in Kenya to our growing list of international fan groups.

“The welcome the club has received this week in Nairobi has underlined the incredible passion and popularity of the Premier League in Kenya and we are looking forward to working closely with the supporters' club to further grow and nurture the Everton fan base in such a wonderful country.”
