Everton explain Josh King absence for Sheffield United visit

Josh King will miss today's game with Sheffield United at Goodison.

The striker picked up an injury in training at Finch Farm yesterday as the team went through their final preparations for the match.

King's issue has been described as a "small problem" by Everton.

Carlo Ancelotti has therefore been unable to name a striker on the bench for tonight's penultimate Goodison game of the season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is on the bench, however, after dropping out of the team to make way for the returning James Rodriguez.

King, meanwhile, will hope to fit for Wednesday's game with Wolves but the Norwegian has yet to start a game for the Blues following his deadline day move from Bournemouth in February.

The 29-year-old's short-term deal comes to an end next month but Everton have yet to indicate if he will be offered a new deal or not.
