Here are your Everton evening headlines for Tuesday 6 October .
Richarlison compares Calvert-Lewin with Ronaldo
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made a lightening start to the season, scoring six goals in four games for Everton. And his exploits have even earned comparisons with one of the world’s best from teammate Richarlison.
Richarlison told Fifa.com: “Dominic’s development has been really impressive. He’s transformed into the complete striker. I remember when I got here he was nothing like the player he is today. It is down to the work he’s put in.
“He’s in the gym every day, he’s always working on his finishing. And playing under Ancelotti he’ll keep getting better and better. He’s had a superb start to the season and without a doubt deserved his England call-up.
“He must be a nightmare to play against and he has an incredible leap on him like Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Southall makes Pickford prediction
Everton legend Neville Southall has had his say over Jordan Pickford’s mixed form in recent weeks, backing the shotstopper to come back stronger than ever.
"I think he's had probably three bad minutes in six months - if [that],” the former Wales international told Sky Sports News .
“His mistakes aren't killing us - I think that's a good thing - and I think once he finds his form, we'll be flying. There'll be a time when we have that little bump in the road and maybe we'll have to rely on him. Maybe people will have to change their opinions.
"But I do think, if Mr Ancelotti wants to play you, you must be half-decent. If his job was on the line, there'd be a taxi outside Goodison tomorrow."
How Walcott will be remembered at Goodison
Theo Walcott has returned to boyhood club Southampton on loan, and as his time at Goodison Park comes to an end, Liverpool Echo reporter Adam Jones remembers his impact at the club.
Jones wrote : “Signed during one of the lowest points of the club's most recent history, the 31-year-old has been a relative mainstay in the first team since that point - before an influx of transfer activity and a change of system this summer has left him more regularly on the bench.
“Walcott became a transfer of a bygone era. Someone who did show flashes of the talent he's always had, but in frustratingly fleeting moments throughout a season.
“He did score some important goals, he did have moments that supporters will look back on fondly, he was the consummate professional and a very likeable person to boot.”
