Everton evening headlines as Moise Kean 'not upset' to leave and explains PSG switch

Good evening, Everton fans. Here are your evening headlines for Saturday, October 10.

Calvert-Lewin couldn't sleep after debut England goal

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was unable to sleep after netting on his England debut against Wales in midweek.

The Blues star has been in electric form for Carlo Ancelotti’s side so far this season with nine goals in seven games.

Gareth Southgate started him alongside Southampton’s Danny Ings at Wembley, with the 23-year old netting a trademark first-half header.

Calvert-Lewin also thanked Ancelotti for the faith he has shown in him this season.

"It's hard to sleep after an evening game because a lot of caffeine and the adrenalin is still in your body. You go to bed and realise you're still wide awake. I had a little cup of Yorkshire Tea to chill out and relax.

"It was a great feeling to wake up knowing I'd accomplished what I set out to. It doesn't always go that way but it's nice that it did.

"Timing is important and I couldn't have come in at a better time with the goals I've scored this season. As with any striker, confidence is a massive thing and I'm very confident at the moment.

"He’s (Ancelotti) not given me anything massive to think about but his whole persona - how cool, calm and collected he is - means he's a man I enjoy playing for,"

"He filled me with confidence straight away. For a manager who has achieved what he has and worked with great players, that gave me a massive boost.

“In the system he is playing at Everton, it has allowed me to be more focused on being the focal point for the team and scoring goals.”

Kean not upset by Everton departure

Everton forward Moise Kean says he is not upset by the club’s decision to send him out on loan to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian international agreed a deadline day season-long loan move to the French capital after playing just 14 minutes of Premier League action so far this season.

The 20-year old has struggled to maintain his best form following his arrival from Juventus last summer, but he is confident he can make an impact with Thomas Tuchel’s side .

Kean told RAI Sport, via the Daily Mail : "I am not particularly upset to have left English football, even if the anti-racism banner from the Everton fans really moved me as I wasn't expecting it.

"It's true, I could've returned to Juventus, but I made this decision along with my family to play in Ligue 1. I've been to Paris before and have relatives here.

"I hope to learn a great deal from this fantastic experience. I am young, I like to work closely with top strikers, so I can learn from their experience and their style of football."

Everton fans may be hit hard by Premier League PPV deal

Everton supporters have been left frustrated by the Premier League’s new plan to screen all non-televised matches on a pay per view system.

Games that do not fall into the allotted windows of live coverage will be broadcast by either Sky Sports or BT Sport at a cost of £14.95 per game.

However, based on the 2019/20 figures, Everton fans could end paying double the amount forked out by Manchester United supporters due to the number of games that will be televised .

Prior to the suspension of the 2019/20 campaign in March, 17 of Everton’s league games were televised. An estimated 22 were to be shown if the season had been completed as normal.

In comparison, United would have had 30 games on TV, meaning Everton fans would have paid an estimated £239.20 to United’s £119.60 under the pay-per-view system.

However, as things stand, none of Everton’s October Premier League games have been scheduled for pay-per-view.
