Everton evening headlines as Marcel Brands PSV signing 'considered' after training row

Here are the Everton evening headlines for Tuesday, June 16.

Blues ready to offer Lozano escape

Everton are considering a bid for Mexican forward Hirving Lozano.

The former PSV Eindhoven player is familiar to Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands and coach Carlo Ancelotti after working with the former in Holland and the latter at current club Napoli.

The Mexican international joined Napoli from PSV for a club-record £33million but has struggled in Italy.

The situation became worse this week when boss Gennaro Gattuso removed him from training due to a ‘lack of commitment’ according to Corriere dello Sport, via The Daily Mail.

Everton star joins elite youngsters in award nomination

Jonjoe Kenny has been nominated for the prestigious Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award.

Kenny, 23, has been on loan at Schalke this season making 29 league appearances and bagging two goals in that time.

He collected the Rookie of the Month award in August and now stands to take an even bigger prize.

Also in the running for the prize are Borussia Monchengladbach's Marcus Thuram, Cologne’ Ismail Jakobs, Borussia Dortmund’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies.

In order to be eligible for the award, a player must be under the age of 23 before matchday 1 of the campaign and not previously started a Bundesliga match in the season prior.

Sky Sports make free games admission as Everton and Liverpool prepare for a record audience

Sky Sports have sought to explain how they will enhance the viewer experience moving forward while stressing that free-to-air games will not become a regular thing.

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park on Sunday is expected to draw a large audience for Sky, as it is due to air on the free-to-view Pick TV channel. The broadcaster has also been working with EA Sports to help develop accurate and realistic crowd noises.

The Bundesliga had implemented a similar set of noises, but they had not been met with a universally positive response.
