Everton evening headlines as James Rodriguez is spotted in London and Napoli chief offer Allan update

Here are the latest Everton headlines for Thursday, September 3.

Transfer target Rodriguez spotted in London

James Rodriguez has been spotted in London as rumours about a move to Everton continue.

The Real Madrid attacker is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and has been strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park.

He was spotted in London this week and stopped off at the Italian restaurant, which is owned by Arsenal duo David Luiz and Willian.

A photo of the player with Irish jockey Rossa Ryan was found on Ryan’s Instagram, and it quickly went viral.

Napoli chief offer Allan update

Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed there have been no issues with Allan’s move to Everton.

The Brazilian midfielder arrived in England earlier this week to undertake a medical and has said his goodbyes to his friends in Naples.

De Laurentiis confirmed he has been given the green-light by lawyers working for Napoli.

“Allan at Everton? Ask [CEO, Andrea] Chiavelli and [sporting director, Cristiano] Giuntoli,” De Laurentiis said as translated by Sport Witness. “I need to check if all the cards are okay.

“The lawyer told me the papers are okay, but I don’t know if he’s signed yet.”

The Toffees will pay Napoli a fee of £22million for the midfielder.

James Rodriguez claim made

Javier Zanetti has tipped James Rodriguez to be a great signing for Everton.

Zanetti is Inter’s vice president, and the Italian club were linked with a move for Rodriguez who now looks set to move to Goodison Park.

Speaking to Caracol Radio, as cited by HITC, Zanetti claimed that despite the Serie A side not wanting to sign Rodriguez he thinks he ‘will do very well at Everton’.

The Argentine said: “At no time did we have the idea of signing James. That does not mean he’s not a great player. I have no doubt he will do very well at Everton.”
