Ancelotti gives verdict on Calvert-Lewin’s Golden Boot chances

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not focused on simply winning the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

The 23-year-old took his tally to ten with a brace in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Fulham.

But Ancelotti has claimed the priority for Calvert-Lewin is to help Everton climb the table.

“Really I don't know, I hope for him! And it will be good for us for him to win the Golden Boot!” he said.

“I think the target is not this, the target is to score goals to help the team to be at the top of the table.

“I think that now, in this moment, he's really focused in the box.

“Every ball that arrives from crosses, he's there. He's doing really well honestly, I didn't expect any more, just to have the consistency that he's had in this period.”

Richarlison sends warning to Premier League opponents after Fulham win

Richarlison has issued a warning to the rest of the Premier League after impressing on his return to the Everton starting XI.

The Brazilian forward created Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s opening goal and was a threat throughout as Carlo Ancelotti’s side earned a 3-2 win.

And he took to Twitter following the game, writing: “Richarlison is back.”

The victory ended a run of three consecutive defeats for Everton and saw them climb to sixth in the Premier League table.

Calvert-Lewin credits tactical change for brace against Fulham

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has suggested Everton’s change of shape helped him score twice in Saturday’s win over Fulham.

The striker netted twice in the first half, and benefited from the threat in wide areas of Alex Iwobi and Lucas Digne, who were utilised as wing-backs in a 3-4-3 system.

“I think the first half was a representation of me benefitting from the new system where I'm getting chances from wide areas, with crosses coming in,” Calvert-Lewin said.

“That's what I like, to be in the right area at the right time.

“It was a game of two halves really. In the second half we didn't really have much of the ball and it was more about digging in and winning fouls and free kicks. It was more of a lonely role.

“But we dug in and we got the win.”
