Everton confirm key fitness updates ahead of Spurs opener
Everton have confirmed that Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure will all be available to face Tottenham Hotspur in tomorrow’s Premier League opener.
Carlo Ancelotti has had very little time to work with his three major midfield signings but their availability will likely be a boost ahead of a tough test against Jose Mourinho’s side.
Ancelotti said : “They are all in good condition and I am happy they have no problems.
“They have trained all week and are ready to play… I don’t know if they are able to play 90 minutes – or if they are going to start – but they are available.
“Allan and Doucoure were training at their clubs before coming here, so were already in good shape physically.
“James started to fully train this week but he is fit.”
Former Blues captain shows support for transfer business
Former Everton skipper Kevin Campbell thinks that Abdoulaye Doucoure is a brilliant signing for the club.
The former Watford midfielder signed a three-year deal with the Goodison Park outfit earlier this week and looks set to make his debut against Spurs tomorrow.
Speaking ahead of the Blues’ opening weekend fixture, Campbell showed his support for the new addition to Ancelotti’s squad.
“There were other clubs in for Doucouré so it is a great piece of business for Everton,” he told Genting Betting.
“For a couple of seasons, I’ve been shouting for him to sign for Arsenal because of that physicality. His style is smart.
“He can play defensive, he can play box to box, he can do multiple things. It is vital to have a player like that in the Premier League.”
Everton ‘interested’ in loan move for Manchester United full-back
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot on season-long loan.
That is according to The Athletic who state that he is on the club’s shortlist of targets but would only be considered as a loan option by the Blues.
Significant spending on the likes of Allan, James and Doucoure is likely to limit Everton’s spending elsewhere in this transfer window which justifies the possibility of a loan move.
If United are willing to loan the full-back out for the season, Dalot could be a valuable asset for Ancelotti’s side.
