Everton evening headlines as Carlo Ancelotti shows faith in Moise Kean

Here are your Everton headlines for the evening of Thursday July 30.

Everton manager reiterates faith in Moise Kean

Carlo Ancelotti says Moise Kean will receive more game time next season, reiterating his faith in the Italian striker who has struggled since making the move to Everton last summer.

The 20-year-old scored only his second goal for the Goodison Park club in the final day defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday and despite speculation about his future on Merseyside Ancelotti has underlined his belief in Kean.

“Of course, he is a player we need to give support to, because he is young,” the Italian coach told Everton’s official site .

“He came here from Italy, so it was a new adaptation for him, a new country. Also, he was alone during the lockdown and so it was not an easy season for him. But this season can give him more experience and more knowledge. He will be better and play more next season.”

Andre Gomes thanks Everton fans after difficult season

Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes has sent a classy message to the Everton support to thank them for backing him over the course of a difficult season.

Gomes missed several months of the 2019/20 campaign with a fracture dislocation of his ankle suffered in a game against Tottenham Hotspur, with Everton also limping over the finishing line in 12th place in the Premier League table.

The former Barcelona man took to Instagram to thank fans for their support, posting : “Final whistle! I was trying to resume this season, but I found myself writing a small book. I'll obviously take the best, out of the worst, from this long, stressful and intense journey.

“Let's rest and prepare for next season. To you all, thank you for your support when things got harder, and thank you for your strength, your ambition. Never stop demanding the best, that shows how big we are!”

Kieran Dowell leaves Everton in move to Norwich City

Norwich City have completed a deal to sign Kieran Dowell from Everton, with the 22-year-old joining the Canaries on the back of an impressive season on loan.

Dowell was key for Wigan Athletic in the second half of the English Championship season, playing an important role as the Latics enjoyed a resurgence, with the club only suffering relegation due to a 12-point deduction.

The young forward is the third player to have been sold by Everton this summer with Fraser Hornby signing for Stade de Reims and Morgan Schneiderlin joining Nice as the Toffees start the process of streamlining their squad.

Dowell leaves Goodison Park having made only five first-team appearances for the Everton senior team. The 22-year-old was in the final year of his contract, with the Toffees taking the decision to move him on for an undisclosed fee.
