Here are the latest Everton evening headlines for Friday, October 9.
Premier League statement about new pay-per-view plans for Everton fans
The Premier League have confirmed plans to make every top-flight match available through a pay-per-view service in conjunction with Sky Sports and BT Sport.
The 2019/2020 season resumed in June, and every match was made available for fans to watch on TV through a variety of channels including Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime and BBC.
Everton ’s next game will see them take on fierce rivals Liverpool on BT Sport, but it will not impact that game.
A portion of those matches were made free-to-air, but that has not continued this season, with the aim originally being to reintroduce supporters to stadiums by October.
Those hopes were dashed following a surge of COVID-19 cases, and now the league has responded with this plan.
A statement from the Premier League read: “The Premier League today confirmed all fixtures until the end of October will continue to be made available to fans to watch live in the UK.
“Under these new arrangements, the current live match selections will remain in place and will be broadcast as normal. In addition, the five matches per round not already selected will be made available to supporters on a pay-per-view basis, accessed via BT Sport Box Office and Sky Sports Box Office platforms.”

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton challenge clear after £700m spent
Carlo Ancelotti has been handed the cheque book this summer to shape the Everton squad in his image.
This is not the first time the Toffees have spent money under Farhad Moshiri, but ambition has not always been matched by success at Goodison Park.
Only five other clubs have spent more on incoming deals over the course of the last ten years, and that lays an obvious challenge at the feet of Ancelotti.
Joe Rimmer & Connor Dunn have written about the situation, and you can read that piece here .
Ex-Manchester United striker hits out at Sergio Romero’s wife over Everton transfer link
Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has taken a swipe at Sergio Romero and his wife in the wake of events on deadline day.
The Argentine shot-stopper was linked with a move to Everton in the final stage of the transfer window’s first phase, but the Toffees opted for Roma’s Robin Olsen instead.
Romero’s wife Eliana Guercio took to Instagram to criticise Man Utd when she wrote: “Sergio Romero worked hard for this club. Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him.
“He helped the team reach 4 finals/semi finals and then was left on the bench only to lose them all. It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!”
After seeing the news, Berbatov told Betfair: “I saw Romero’s wife demand a move away, and unless a wife is a player’s agent, I have always disliked this kind of thing. Sergio is a grown man and can speak for himself.”
