Everton evening headlines as Carlo Ancelotti addresses transfer rumours, ex-Liverpool forward linked

Here are the Everton evening headlines for Friday, November 20.

“Isco move just a rumour,” says Ancelotti

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has addressed rumours linking the club to two of his former Real Madrid stars.

His comments came after the Blues were linked to both playmaker Isco and defensive midfielder Sami Khedira.

Ancelotti told his pre-Fulham press conference : “Isco is a rumour from the press, from the media.

“It’s not a rumour that went out from our side.

“We are not talking about the market in this period, we are talking about the problem that we had and we are working to try and solve the problem.

“Apart from this, Isco was my player at Real Madrid and was a fantastic player.

“He is a Real Madrid player.”

Asked about Khedira, who now plays for Juventus, Ancelotti said: “I have a good memory of Sami Khedira.

“He was with me at Real Madrid and was a fantastic professional.”

Rodriguez’s Colombia bust-up “not Everton’s problem”

The Everton boss has also stated James Rodriguez must be focused on Everton's upcoming games after a strong statement.

The playmaker released a message on Thursday evening following his recent time with the Colombia national team denying any involvement in a reported dressing room altercation with his country.

And Ancelotti does not believe it is Everton’s problem to try and deal with.

He said : “Really, I didn't talk to him about this because I think it's not our problem.

“I just welcome him.

“He trained, like (Yerry) Mina.

“They were of course disappointed for their result with the national team, but I think now they have to be focused on our games."

The Italian was also later asked about the best position of Rodriguez in the Everton setup at the minute.

“His position is a number 10, but it doesn't matter if he plays a little bit on the right,” Ancelotti added.

“His better position is to play in front, there's no doubt for this. All the games that he played, he played in front.

“It doesn't matter if he's in the middle of the pitch or a little bit on the right of the pitch.”

Ex-Liverpool forward could move to Everton

Former Liverpool attacker Luis Alberto is again being linked with a move to Everton.

According to Italian outlet Il Tempo, cited by the Express, the Spaniard is facing tough questions about his future at Lazio after clashing with club bosses.

It comes after he criticised Lazio officials for splashing out on a new plane for the squad instead of paying the players their full wages during the coronavirus pandemic.

Alberto is facing a potential £63,000 fine from the Italian side and it has been suggested he could be left out of Simone Inzaghi’s squad this weekend.

Everton are said to be monitoring his situation and could bid for his services in January.
