Everton evening headlines as Brazilian starlet Luis Henrique linked

Good evening, Everton fans. Here are your evening headlines for Sunday, August 9.

Brazilian teenager linked with Everton

Everton are considering a bid for Botafogo winger Luis Henrique, according to local reports translated by Sports Witness .

FogãoNET claim that a bid from Everton could be imminent, with boss Carlo Ancelotti seemingly looking to add to Merseyside’s Portuguese-speaking contingent which already boasts Richarlison, André Gomes and Bernard at the club’s Finch Farm training base.

A figure is yet to be suggested but Botafogo are reportedly braced to receive a bid from either the Toffees or Italian side Napoli.

Early comparisons have been made to Richarlison, with the 18-year-old Henrique capable of playing across the front line.

Rose opens up on Germany move

Former Everton academy product Dan Rose has expressed his delight at moving abroad and explained why an ex-Toffees team-mate almost cost him a move to Bundesliga club Schalke.

The 16-year-old left Merseyside this summer and is set to embark on a European adventure at the club who took Jonjoe Kenny on loan throughout the 2019/20 season.

Rose suggested that Kenny’s position made negotiations between the two sides more difficult, but that the differences were eventually resolved which allowed him to move to Gelsenkirchen and join up with the club’s Under-19s.

Rose has been described as brave to seek a move abroad, but credits Jadon Sancho as a trailblazer, showing exactly how successful young English players can be outside the U.K.

Schalke have a good record when it comes to producing goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer came through the ranks at the club, while Alexander Nübel who recently agreed a move to Bayern Munich, is also a Schalke graduate.

Everton coach hails ‘wonderful’ Ancelotti

Everton goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly has described his admiration and positive working relationship with club manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Kelly told the Liverpool ECHO about the Italian coach's superb footballing brain, making particular reference to his “wisdom.”

Kelly was asked to become a permanent member of Ancelotti’s coaching team at Goodison Park and has not looked back, labelling it a “huge honour” to work under one of the game’s greats; a man whose book Kelly has read and recommended.

The Irishman insists he feels immense pride working with Ancelotti every day.
