Everton earn £128.6m in TV money as Blues bank more than Real Madrid

Everton earned more than Real Madrid in TV money last season.

The Toffees were awarded £128.6m in TV money from the record Premier League deal as top flight clubs continued to cash in on the popularity of English football.

Respected financial blog Swiss Ramble have conducted research into how the TV money between top Premier League clubs compares with their European counterparts.

Everton were the top ranked English club outside of last season's top six, with only La Liga giants Barcelona earning more than the Blues in Europe.

The £128.6m haul is more than that of Real Madrid, who received £125m from La Liga last season.

Incredibly, other top clubs such as Bayern Munich and Juventus, who boast some of the greatest players in the world, earned less in TV money than the Premier League’s three relegated clubs, Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town.

Between the three of them, Cardiff, Fulham and Huddersfield bagged a combined total of £301.2m in TV money.

So with that in mind, Bayern earned £9m less than Huddersfield, who were relegated from the Premier League after winning just three times all season, even though they won a seventh consecutive Bundesliga title and reached the last-16 of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid earned £94m, Bayern £89 and Dortmund £80m.
