Yerry Mina reacted to Carlo Ancelotti's assessment that he was "average" in his last game at Goodison but producing "his best performance" so far this season.
The Everton boss offered a blunt analysis of Mina's display in the 5-2 win over West Bromwich Albion last month but was full of praise after his goal-scoring performance in last weekend's victory over Brighton.
Mina connected with a James Rodriguez free-kick to head the Blues back in front after the visitors equalised following a Jordan Pickford error.
The Colombian put in a superb defensive effort in the second-half and has won the praise of his manager.
"The performance was really good defensively, he never had problems, he had good positioning, scored a goal which was really important," Ancelotti said.
"Like the others he is growing in confidence. I think his performance was his best performance in this period of the season."
Mina, away on international duty this week, says Everton's perfect start to the season has been underpinned by a "harmony" in the dressing room.
“Thankful to God for allowing me to score one more goal. I’m calm because things are going well, there’s harmony within the dressing room,” said Mina told AS - as cited by Sport Witness.
“We have a great family at Everton and we are showing it on the pitch. I’m the happiest because the James arrived, we have a very good relationship and I want to enjoy him as a person and as a professional, I always try to work with him.”
