Michael Keane has agreed a new five-year deal with Everton.
The Blues defender had entered the final two years of the contract he signed in the summer of 2017, when joining from Burnley.
But Keane has this weekend put pen to paper on fresh terms which keep him at the club until 2025.
The England international had a strong finish to the season with Everton and was the most consistent performer in the final nine games following the re-start.
Keane is expected to start the new season alongside Mason Holgate as Carlo Ancelotti's preferred central defensive partnership.
Everton walked away from talks over a deal to sign Lille's Gabriel Magalhaes and have put the pursuit of central defensive reinforcements on the back-burner while other targets are pursued.
The Blues, at this stage, will start the new season with Keane, Holgate, Yerry Mina and Jarrad Branthwaite as their options in the heart of the defence.
Lewis Gibson is expected to join Championship side Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan.
