Everton could struggle to offload Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse on transfer deadline day

Cuco Martina is weighing up offers from abroad that may mean he stays at Everton on deadline day.

The Blues defender has been made available for sale or loan this month but the ECHO understands he could remain with the club past today's 11pm cut-off point.

Transfer windows in Portugal, Russia and China, for example, are open for longer than the major leagues in Europe and Martina could choose not to rush a decision on his next move.

The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and will leave Everton on a free transfer at the end of June.

Everton, meanwhile, could face frustration in their attempts to offload Oumar Niasse today.

The club have received interest from several clubs in the Senegal striker but, so far, no offer has suited both parties.

Niasse had been offered to Derby County earlier in the window but is believed to have rejected the proposal.

Like Martina, the 29-year-old is entering the final six months of his contract at Goodison and may choose to stay with the club until his release in the summer.
