Everton could receive cash boost after Norwich City book Premier League return

Everton could be in line for a cash injection following Norwich City's promotion back to the Premier League.

The Canaries secured their top flight return yesterday having been relegated last season having won only five matches.

But Daniel Farke has guided them to an immediate return with Kieran Dowell playing a part in their success.

Dowell left Everton to join Norwich in the summer for an undisclosed fee and having overcome an ankle injury, earlier in the season, has made 20 Championship appearances, scoring three times and laying on one assist.

And the Blues may now stand to profit from Norwich's promotion.

Everton have remained tight lipped on the possibility today but in the Canaries' most recent set of accounts it confirmed that the signing of Dowell's signing from Goodison came with the possibility of additional payments needing to be made based on the performance of the player and team.

Norwich wrote: "Subsequent to the period end the Club has acquired the registrations of players K Dowell and J Hugill along with OSkipp, X Quintilla and B Gibson on season-long loans.

"The Club is committed to payments of £6.1m in respect of these transactions with further payments due of £4.6m dependent on Club and/or player performance."
