Everton consider 'trying to poach' Real Madrid chief scout

Everton are reportedly considering an attempt to poach Real Madrid's chief scout Juni Calafat.

The Blues are among a number of Premier League clubs, which also includes Chelsea, who are believed to be interested in the highly-rated scout, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Calafat has been instrumental in overhauling Real's recruitment strategy, bringing in some of the most talented youngsters in world football - including the likes of Vincius Junior, Eder Militao, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo and Martin Odegaard - with his latest deal being struck for Los Blancos to bring in 18-year-old Reinier Jesus.

Everton have started to enact a new transfer policy under sporting director Marcel Brands both looking at talented youngsters at home and abroad.

And, as the market becomes more competitive, it makes sense for Carlo Ancelotti to be looking for the best people in world football to join his team with Calafat clearly a top talent, predominantly working his magic in Brazil.

The Spanish media have dubbed Real's recruitment as the ‘Calafat Academy’ and the Spanish giants are reportedly hopeful they have gathered some of the best young talent in world football to develop for the future.

It is a new approach for the mega-rich club who have regularly relied buying ready-made stars in the past - most recently with Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
