Everton 'consider' move for Tottenham defender after 'bid' for giant midfielder

Everton's preparations for the new Premier League season are well underway as Frank Lampard looks to improve on what was a miserable, if memorable, showing last campaign.

The Blues' late upturn in form allowed them to stave off relegation, but only a freshening up of the squad will provide the opportunity to produce a better result this time round. Star forward Richarlison has already left for Tottenham, helping to boost the transfer kitty, but who will Lampard bring into the club before the action kicks off for real?

Here's a round-up of the latest Everton transfer rumours simmering to the top of the world wide web.

What?

Everton are said to be considering a move for Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga. That's according to Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, who claims the Blues are vying for his services alongside Southampton.

Spurs are seemingly happy to allow the versatile defender to leave North London, but the Blues and the Saints would also face competition from AC Milan. Both a loan or a permanent transfer could apparently be achievable.

Amadou Onana.

Why?

Competition is fierce for Belgium international Amadou Onana, but according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Everton have made a bid for the 6ft 5" midfielder.

The 20-year-old currently plays for French club Lille, but after a stand-out season in Ligue 1, is now the subject of offers from rival clubs. The Blues face competition from Monaco, Leicester City and West Ham United, with the latter already having a £20million bid rejected, as per the Mail.

Tavolieri does not say how much Everton's 'bid' was for or whether it has been considered.
