Everton confirm second loan of the season for versatile youngster after early return

Everton have confirmed that Callum Connolly has completed a loan move to Fleetwood Town after his spell at Lincoln City was ended early.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the term with the League One side and made 15 appearances in all competitions, but had his temporary switch cut short ahead of another move to start this week.

Connolly trained with his new teammates on Monday and could potentially make his debut for his new club when they come up against Burton Albion on Saturday.

Head coach Joey Barton told Fleetwood Town's official club website: "We are really pleased to have brought Callum to the club.

"He is someone that we have been tracking for some time, so when the opportunity arose to bring him into our group we jumped at the chance.

"I feel that he will add to already strong group of characters that we have in the building, and we all look forward to seeing him perform for Fleetwood Town."

Capped four times by England at Under-21 level, Connolly joins a side sitting seventh in League One.
