Everton confirm release of Oumar Niasse and Cuco Martina while Djibril Sidibe extends stay

Everton have announced that both Oumar Niasse and Cuco Martina have not been given short-term contract extensions and will leave the club at the end of the month.

Luke Garbutt will also depart Goodison Park following the end of his current contract, while Leighton Baines has agreed to a short-term deal to keep him with the club until the end of this term.

The offer of a further one-year contract to the latter is also still valid and the club are still waiting on an answer from the defender.

Djibril Sidibe, meanwhile, has agreed to extend his loan stay from Monaco until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Blues had until Tuesday to come to agreements players over extended stays at Goodison Park to complete the current campaign as new regulations were introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Niasse was signed by Roberto Martinez in January 2016 from Lokomotiv Moscow and has had a roller-coaster Everton career, which has seen him dip drastically in and out of favour on occasion.

Martina joined the Blues in the summer of 2017 in a free transfer from Southampton, and was used primarily as left-back cover during the following term before falling out-of-favour.

Earlier this week, Maarten Stekelenburg was handed an extension until the end of the season, before leaving the club to join Ajax at the end of the term.

Everton's under-23s also confirmed departures with Morgan Feeney, Alex Denny, Matty Foulds, Manasse Mampala and Korede Adedoyin all to be released - while Kieran Phillips will complete his loan spell with Huddersfield before leaving the Blues.

Nathangelo Markelo and Con Ouzounidis have been offered new deals.
