Everton confirm Rafa Benitez's first press conference as manager

Everton have confirmed that Rafa Benitez will host his first press conference as manager on Wednesday afternoon.

The Spaniard was confirmed as the new Blues boss at the end of June following the surprise departure of Carlo Ancelotti at the beginning of that month.

And now the 61-year-old will face the media for the first time on Wednesday at 1:30pm as pre-season preparations continue ahead of the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign.

The majority of the Everton squad returned to Finch Farm last Monday for initial checks, before taking part in their first full session under their new boss on Tuesday.

On Saturday, the Blues played their first pre-season football when they welcomed Accrington Stanley to Finch Farm for a training match.

Everton take on Millonarios and one of either Arsenal or Inter Milan as part of the Florida Cup at the end of the month, before travelling to face Manchester United at Old Trafford a week before the start of the new campaign.

The appointment of Benitez was met with backlash by some sections of the Blues fanbase and is sure to be addressed in his first press conference.

Settling into his new surroundings at Finch Farm, the transfer window and aims for the upcoming 2021/22 term are also likely to be topics of discussion for the new boss.
