Everton confirm pre-season schedule for double-winning youngsters

Everton's double-winning under-23s will use a Spanish training base as part of their pre-season preparations.

David Unsworth's side will travel to La Manga for the third successive summer where they will combine training with an opening friendly game of the summer.

The young Blues, who won the Premier League 2 title and Premier League cup in the season just finished, will take on League Two side Swindon Town on Thursday, July 11 at 11am as part of the Spanish camp.

Everton return to England to face Morecambe away on July 20 (3pm) before  making the trip to Chorley, promoted to the top tier of non-league football earlier this month, on July 23 (7.30pm).

Rhyl are the Blues' next opponents in pre-season, with a trip to Wales arranged for July 27 (3pm) before they go to Bamber Bridge on July 31 (7.30pm).

Everton's final friendly game of the summer sees them face Wigan Athletic's u-23s at the Championship side's training base on August 3 at 1pm.

Unsworth's squad are due back to Finch Farm to begin pre-season training on Monday, July 1.
