Everton confirm departure of two board members as restructure announced

Keith Harris and Jon Woods have left their positions on Everton's board of directors.

In a club statement issued this morning, the Blues have confirmed that Harris is no longer deputy chairman and that Woods is not involved at boardroom level.

Harris had also acted as the board's new stadium sponsor but Everton have confirmed that the work of Stadium Development Director Colin Chong will be overseen by chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale.

Everton say the changes have come about following a period of "review and strategic planning."

The statement read, in part: "Everton Football Club has today announced changes to its Board of Directors following a period of review and strategic planning.

"The changes include Jon Woods and Deputy Chairman Keith Harris leaving the Board.

"Chief Executive Officer Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale will oversee the work of Stadium Development Director Colin Chong and take responsibility for the new stadium project - including the delivery of a community-led legacy at Goodison Park - with Sasha Ryazantsev responsible for finalising the funding for the schemes.

"Marcel Brands, who was appointed to the Board in January 2019, will continue in his role as Director of Football.

"The Club remains under the leadership of Chairman Bill Kenwright and Majority Shareholder Farhad Moshiri."
