Everton confirm departure of Morgan Schneiderlin to Nice for undisclosed fee

Everton have confirmed the departure of midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to Nice.

The Blues were locked in negotiations with the Ligue 1 club over a deal for the 30-year-old midfielder and have now announced the Frenchman has left Goodison for an undisclosed fee.

Nice's sporting director Julien Fournier was quoted on Sunday as saying: "Morgan Schneiderlin should sign on Monday, he has passed his medical, we are waiting for Everton's signature."

Schneiderlin, who has been out injured after undergoing knee surgery in February and was due to enter the final 12 months of his contract next month, joined the Blues in January 2017 for £20m from Manchester United.

He made 71 appearances for the Blues making his debut in a memorable 4-0 win over Manchester City, scoring one goal against West Brom shortly after his arrival at Goodison.
