Everton confirm Beni Baningime transfer exit

Beni Baningime has left Everton to join Scottish Premiership club Hearts on a free transfer.

The midfielder has penned a three-year deal with Robbie Neilson's side.

The DR Congo-born star was once highly thought of within the Toffees youth academy after joining at the age of nine and was handed his first team debut in October 2017 in a League Cup tie at Chelsea, eventually going on to make 12 senior appearances for the Blues.

Baningime solidified himself as a regular in David Unsworth’s Premier League 2 title-winning side in 2016/17.

However, he didn't appear to have a long-term future on Merseyside after failing to make a major impact during recent loan spells with Derby County and Wigan Athletic.

After 14 years with the Toffees he is now making the switch from Goodison to Tynecastle Park in search of first team football.

Baningime is keen to play regular football and joins the Jambos ahead of this weekend's Premiership opener against Celtic at home.

He joins the likes of Alex Cochrane, Josh Ginnelly and Ross Stewart as new arrivals at Hearts this summer as manager Neilson looks to strengthen his squad after winning promotion from the Championship last season.
