Everton confirm Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure fitness for Tottenham Hotspur

Everton have confirmed that their three big-name signings are all fit and available to face Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

The Blues bolstered their squad with the acquisitions of Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure earlier this month and the trio are in contention to make their debuts on Sunday (4:30pm).

Carlo Ancelotti has suggested that Allan, signed from Napoli, and Doucoure, who joined from Watford, are in better condition than Rodriguez having trained with their former clubs before joining Everton.

Rodriguez did not re-join Real Madrid for pre-season training as he waited for his Goodison Park switch but he has worked all week with his new team-mates.

Ancelotti did not reveal how many of the new signings would start but confirmed they will be in the matchday squad.

“They are all in good condition and I am happy they have no problems,” the Everton boss confirmed.

“They have trained all week and are ready to play.

“I don’t know if they are able to play 90 minutes – or if they are going to start – but they are available.

“Allan and Doucoure were training at their clubs before coming here, so were already in good shape physically.

“James started to fully train this week but he is fit.”

Ancelotti has described Allan as "one of the best defensive midfielders in the world" and has now heaped praise on Doucoure, saying he offers something nobody else in the whole squad can.

“Abdoulaye is a fantastic midfielder, a complete midfielder” Ancelotti said. “He can defend well. He is a box-to-box midfielder. He can bring energy to the club and a different quality.

“We don’t have midfielders with his kinds of characteristics. We have midfielders with quality and midfielders who are tactically good.

"He [Doucoure] is the only one who is box-to-box. I know him really well, what he did with Watford. He is a player with strong character and he uses that in games.

“These are the reasons he is a good signing for us. He is going to improve the quality of our squad.”
