Paul Clement has compared Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival at Everton to when he took over at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italian was named as Everton's new manager back in December, replacing Marco Silva, who was sacked following the Blues’ 5-2 defeat to Liverpool at the start of that month.
Ancelotti has already struck up an instant connection with Everton supporters since his arrival on Merseyside and has helped the Goodison club to a fine start this season.
Saturday’s draw with Liverpool extended Everton’s unbeaten start to the season to eight games, with the Blues still sitting top of the Premier League table.
Key to Everton’s success so far this season has been summer signings Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez.
The Blues signed all three players in the space of five days back in September, with Ancelotti having no hesitation in throwing the trio into the action from the off.
And Clement, who worked under Ancelotti at Chelsea, Paris St Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, believes more top players are likely to arrive at Goodison with the three time Champions League winner in charge.
"It's like when he went to PSG," Clement told The Times. “There were bigger, better opportunities but it was exciting.
“It was good for PSG that someone of his profile could come and attract Thiago Silva, Zlatan (Ibrahimovic), Thiago Motta.
“Those players come because they have a coach of that level. You’ve seen that at Everton already. The signing of James Rodriguez doesn’t happen if Carlo is not there.”
Before he continued: “Some of the existing players are stepping up, too. (Dominic) Calvert-Lewin is a great example.
“That’s what a good coach and manager does: they get that extra 10-15% out of the player that even they don’t know they have.”
